*THIS CHART IS ONLY A PORTION (TOP 30) OF A TOP 50 CHART.
HENCE songs are not deemed to have fallen off the charts UNTIL they are
OUTSIDE/BELOW the top 50 and NOT the top 30 broadcasted on air. This IS
reflected in the year end 'jamz' and explains partially why songs peaking
significantly lower than others may still finish ahead of them on the
year-end charts.

Adele's Still 'Deep' Atop Hot 100, Coldplay Makes a Splash

by Gary Trust, N.Y. | June 08, 2011 5:08 EDT

Andrew Yee

Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" claims a fifth week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, to be released tomorrow (June 9) on Billboard.com, while Coldplay's "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall" charges in as the chart's top new entry.

"Rolling in the Deep" spends a second week atop Radio Songs (150 million in audience, up 5%, according to Nielsen BDS). The multi-format hit rewrites the weekly plays record (5,069) on Adult Pop Songs, where it reigns for a fifth week, tops Pop Songs for a second week and bullets at No. 3 on Adult Contemporary and No. 18 on Rock Songs. "Rolling in the Deep" additionally continues making inroads at urban radio, rising 100-82 on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.

Chart Juice: Adele Debuts on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs

On Digital Songs, "Deep" logs a fifth frame at No. 1 (244,000 downloads sold, down 4%, according to Nielsen SoundScan).

Pitbull's "Give Me Everything," featuring Ne-Yo, AfroJack and Nayer, holds at No. 2 on the Hot 100 with Airplay Gainer honors for a second straight week, lifting 4-3 on Radio Songs (116 million, up 16%). The track spends a third week at No. 2 on Digital Songs (217,000, up 3%).

Katy Perry's former Hot 100 No. 1 "E.T.," featuring Kanye West, descends 2-3; Bruno Mars' "The Lazy Song" rises 6-4; Jennifer Lopez's "On the Floor," featuring Pitbull, dips 4-5; and, LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem," featuring Lauren Bennett and GoonRock, jumps 9-6.

Lady Gaga's "The Edge of Glory" advances 8-7 on the Hot 100, spurred by a 24-15 rise on Radio Songs (51 million, up 31%). The song holds at No. 4 on Digital Songs (166,000, up 1%). "The Edge of Glory" bounds 14-10 on Pop Songs in its fourth week, marking her second-fastest top 10 ascension on the radio airplay ranking. Only the title cut from her new album "Born This Way" soared into the bracket more quickly (two weeks).

Lady Gaga's 'Born' Holds Atop Billboard 200,

Despite Steep Sales Drop

The Black Eyed Peas' "Just Can't Get Enough" falls 5-8 on the Hot 100, and Britney Spears' "Till the World Ends" slips 7-9. Lupe Fiasco's "The Show Goes On" rounds out the top 10, rebounding 12-10. The song reached a peak-to-date of No. 9 two weeks ago.

Just outside the Hot 100's top 10, Lil Wayne's "How to Love" blasts 69-12 with the chart's Digital Gainer award in its second week. The song, which showcases the rapper's singing skills, rockets 52-5 on Digital Songs (151,000, up 309%) following its first full week of retail availability.

Coldplay leads 12 new titles (10 debuts and two re-entries) onto the Hot 100, as "Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall" opens as the Hot Shot Debut at No. 29. With less than a week at retail and radio (it was released June 3), the track starts on Digital Songs at No. 17 (85,000). It begins with 10 million audience impressions on 122 stations and bows on the Rock Songs (No. 21) and Alternative Songs (No. 23) airplay charts.

Coldplay's 'Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall' Single Debuts: Listen

"Waterfall," released ahead of Coldplay's forthcoming fifth studio album, marks the band's sixth top 40 Hot 100 hit. Its highest-peaking chart entry, "Viva La Vida," reigned at No. 1 this month in 2008 (and began a three-week command of Digital Songs this week three years ago).

As they each rank in the top 10 on other tracks, Pitbull and Katy Perry embark on new chart runs. The former's "International Love," featuringChris Brown, bows at No. 59, while the latter's "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" returns at No. 63. The song had spent a week at No. 67 the week that parent album "Teenage Dream" launched atop the Billboard 200 (Sept. 11, 2010). The video for "Friday," which concurrently debuts on Pop Songs at No. 31, premieres next Tuesday (June 14).

Rebecca Black Sneaks Into Katy Perry's 'Last Friday Night' Teaser

Other notable Hot 100 debuts include Beyoncé's new radio focus track "Best Thing I Never Had" (No. 84), one of three titles on the chart from her forthcoming album "4" ("Run the World (Girls)" falls 29-55 and "1+1" slides 57-89); Linkin Park's "Iridescent" (No. 86), released from the "Transformers 3: Dark Side of the Moon" soundtrack (after being available on the band's most recent album, "A Thousand Suns"); and, Andy Grammer's "Keep Your Head Up" (No. 94), which marks the first top 10 on Adult Pop Songs (No. 9) by a new male artist in his first chart appearance since Josh Kelley ("Amazing") in 2003.

All charts, including the Hot 100, Digital Songs and Radio Songs, will be refreshed tomorrow on Billboard.com.
