*THIS CHART IS ONLY A PORTION (TOP 30) OF A TOP 50 CHART.
HENCE songs are not deemed to have fallen off the charts UNTIL they are
OUTSIDE/BELOW the top 50 and NOT the top 30 broadcasted on air. This IS
reflected in the year end 'jamz' and explains partially why songs peaking
significantly lower than others may still finish ahead of them on the
year-end charts.

Katy Perry's 'Friday' Flies Up Hot 100, Adele Still No. 1

by Gary Trust, N.Y. | June 22, 2011 2:30 EDT

Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" banks a seventh week at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, to be released tomorrow (June 23) on Billboard.com, while Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" rockets into the top five.

Katy Perry Parties With Rebecca Black, 'Glee' Cast in 'Last Friday Night' Video

"Deep" spends a fourth week atop Radio Songs (153 million in audience, up 1%, according to Nielsen BDS). The multi-format juggernaut concurrently lifts 2-1 on Adult Contemporary. With it having previously reached No. 1 on the Triple A, Adult Pop Songs and Pop Songs airplay charts, "Deep" is just the second song to have commanded all four radio rankings, following Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" (2008-09). "Deep" darts 79-66 on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs (2.3 million in audience, up 40%) and even crosses over to the Latin Pop Songs airplay chart (No. 33).

On Digital Songs, "Deep" drops, however, 1-5 after six frames on top (188,000 downloads sold, down 16%, according to Nielsen SoundScan).

Rick Rubin on Why Adele's Hot Streak Is 'Just Beginning'

Replacing "Deep" at the Digital Songs summit, Perry's "Friday" blasts 28-1 (235,000, up 259%). The song soars following the June 13 premiere of its star-studded video, whose guests include Rebecca Black, Hanson, Corey Feldman, Kenny G and Debbie Gibson. The clip has already netted 28.6 million YouTube views.

As Perry's album "Teenage Dream" had become the only album to generate four Digital Songs No. 1s - "California Gurls," featuring Snoop Dogg, the title cut, "Firework" and "E.T.," featuring Kanye West - the set makes further history as the only release to yield a quintet of toppers.

Airplay is also spurring the fast Hot 100 flight of "Friday," which jumps 40-21 in its second week on Radio Songs (44 million, up 57%). The song charges 25-13 as the Greatest Gainer on Pop Songs and enters Adult Pop Songs at No. 34. On the Hot 100, "Friday" flies 31-4 as the chart's Digital Gainer.

Pitbull's "Give Me Everything," featuring Ne-Yo, AfroJack and Nayer, holds at No. 2 on the Hot 100, gaining by 6% in airplay (to 138 million in audience), though dipping by 5% in downloads (to 200,000). (AfroJack concurrently debuts at No. 96 as the lead artist on "Take Over Control," featuring Eva Simons. The song spent six weeks atop Billboard's Dance Airplay radio chart beginning in November).

Pitbull's 'Planet Pit:' Track-by-Track Review

LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem," featuring Lauren Bennett and GoonRock, remains at No. 3 with Airplay Gainer honors for a second week. The track pushes 9-6 on Radio Songs (85 million, up 254%). On Digital Songs, it advances 3-2 (209,000, up 10%).

Perry's "E.T." dips 4-5 on the Hot 100. With "Friday" one spot above, Perry is the first artist this year to place two titles in the top five simultaneously as a lead act.

Lady Gaga's "The Edge of Glory" - featuring a sax solo from the late Clarence Clemons - bullets at No. 6 for a second consecutive week on the Hot 100.

Lady Gaga's 'Edge of Glory' Video Premieres: Watch

Jason Aldean's "Dirt Road Anthem" motors 9-7 on the Hot 100, improving by 12% to 189,000 downloads sold. Aldean performed "Anthem" withLudacris on the CMT Awards June 8 and a studio version of the song with the rapper was released June 7. Last week, the Ludacris-assisted version accounted for 44% of the title's overall download sum; this week, the percentage jumps to 60%. (Because the version sporting his contribution accounts for more than half of the song's digital total, Ludacris now receives featured artist billing on the Hot 100).

Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass" bumps 10-8 on the Hot 100, Bruno Mars' "The Lazy Song" descends 5-9 and Lupe Fiasco's "The Show Goes On" returns to the top 10 (11-10) after reaching No. 9 four weeks ago.

Bad Meets Evil, the duo of rappers Eminem and Royce Da 5'9", leads 11 new titles onto the Hot 100, as "Lighters" ignites at No. 16. The pair's launch atop the Billboard 200 with its "Hell: the Sequel" EP aids enthusiasm for the track, as 96% of its Hot 100 points total stems from digital sales (132,000).

Eminem & Royce da 5'9" Debut at No. 1 on Billboard 200 with Bad Meets Evil EP

Three songs performed on NBC's reality singing competition "The Voice" last Tuesday (June 14) enter the Hot 100: Javier Colon's "Angel" (No. 64); Vicci Martinez's "Jolene" (No. 76); and, Casey Weston's "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" (No. 90). Two songs performed the previous week also grace the list: Dia Frampton's "Heartless" (78-57) and Xenia's "Price Tag," a debut at No. 99. (From "Voice" coach Blake Shelton's team, the highest public vote after the singers' performance week belonged to Frampton, while, given the chance to save an additional contestant on his squad, Shelton saved Xenia).

Fellow "Voice" coach Adam Levine debuts on the Hot 100, guesting on Gym Class Heroes' "Stereo Hearts" at No. 64. The song, from the group's forthcoming album "The Papercut Chronicles II," marks Levine's second Hot 100 appearance apart from Maroon 5. He assisted Kanye West on the No. 26-peaking "Heard 'Em Say" in 2005. Maroon 5 - up 65-62 with "Never Gonna Leave This Bed" - look in line for a strong Hot 100 debut next week with "Moves Like Jagger," featuring yet another "Voice" coach: Christina Aguilera. The song, as premiered on Tuesday night's episode (June 21), has arrived in the upper reaches of the iTunes Store's singles ranking.

As previewed Monday in Chart Beat, country superstar Shania Twain returns to the Hot 100 for the first time since 2005, as "Today is Your Day" launches at No. 66. The song starts with 46,000 downloads sold and begins on the Country Songs airplay chart at No. 40 with 2.3 million in audience.

All charts, including the Hot 100, Digital Songs and Radio Songs, will be refreshed tomorrow on Billboard.com.
