Flo Rida Tops Hot 100, Carrie Underwood's 'Home' Debuts High

March 19, 2009 08:31 AM ET
Ayala Ben-Yehuda, L.A.
As Flo Rida, Lady GaGa and Kelly Clarkson continue their chart feats in the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 this week, it’s Carrie Underwood who scores the top debut.

Underwood’s “Home Sweet Home,” the new elimination theme song for “American Idol,” debuted at No. 21 on the Hot 100—propelled by 112,000 digital downloads. Proceeds from the downloads benefit the Humane Society of the United States.

In this week’s top 10, Flo Rida’s “Right Round” is in its fifth week at No. 1, followed by T.I. feat. Justin Timberlake’s “Dead and Gone,” which continues to hold at No. 2. Lady GaGa’s “Poker Face” held at No. 3 but was the chart’s greatest airplay gainer. Soulja Boy feat. Sammie’s “Kiss Me Through the Phone” also remains in its No. 4 position, but Kelly Clarkson’s “My Life Would Suck Without You” leaps four spots to No. 5.

Clarkson’s single got a 38% download gain, moving 141,000 tracks, with the release of her new album “All I Ever Wanted.”

Rounding out the top 10 are the All-American Rejects’ “Gives You Hell,” dropping one spot to No. 6; Kanye West’s “Heartless,” up one spot to No. 7; Jamie Foxx feat. T-Pain’s “Blame It,” up two positions to No. 8; Miley Cyrus’ “The Climb,” down three to No. 9; and Lady GaGa feat. Colby O’Donis’ “Just Dance, dropping three spots to No. 10.

The week’s next-highest debut after Underwood’s is Keith Urban’s “Kiss a Girl,” entering the Hot 100 at No. 51. Miley Cyrus doubles up on the chart with a new entry, “Hoedown Throwdown,” entering at No. 56. Another new song from Kelly Clarkson, “Already Gone,” debuts at No. 70.

Other chart newbies include the Black Eyed Peas’ “Boom Boom Pow,” the group’s first Hot 100 entry since “My Humps” went to No. 3 in 2005. Coming in at No. 96 is Plies feat. Ashanti with “Want It, Need It.”

Also this week, Pearl Jam earns its fourth No. 1 on the Modern Rock chart as "Brother" rises from No. 4 to No. 1. “Brother,” one of six previously unreleased tracks from the March 24 reissue of Pearl Jam's debut album "Ten," follows the band's previous No. 1s "Daughter" (1993), "Who You Are" (1996) and "World Wide Suicide" (2006). Jamie Foxx's "Blame It" featuring fellow R&B crooner T-Pain, remains at number one on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Chart for a sixth consecutive week.

Darius Rucker becomes the first male artist to send his first two entries on the Hot Country Songs chart to No. 1 since Clay Walker 15 years ago, as "It Won't Be Like This for Long" ascends 2-1. Rucker's "Don't Think I Don't Think About It," the first single from his debut country album, "Learn to Live," led for two weeks in October.

Make way for the sexy Lady Nicole A.K.A. Queen Kong

QueenKongsexy_girls.jpgMake way for the queen…Queen Kong that is. Lady Nicole aka Queen Kong was born Lekisha Nicole in Oakland, CA. This multi-talented beauty is the second oldest of four children and the only female child. Being raised in a six person household in Oakland, CA was not an easy task and Lady Nicole’s parents struggled together to make ends meet and raise their children. Lady Nicole’s father eventually turned to drugs as a way of escape and was absent in most of Lady Nicole’s life. Being raised in a now single parent household, Lady Nicole experienced poverty and all the setbacks that come with it. Yet, there was something in Lady Nicole that caused her to persevere against the despair that was around her.

In the late 80s, early 90s, Lady Nicole’s mother moved her and her brother to Sacramento, CA, where she met her god sister, Shawnna, wife of Brotha Lynch Hung. Lady Nicole soon found herself writing lyrics and used this talent as a way of escape. Over time, Lady Nicole developed her own style and swagger that set her apart from other female rappers. As with other artists, Lady Nicole began to experience writer’s block and turned to modeling as a way to remain busy while she worked through her artistic downtime. Lady Nicole was found to be talented and successful as a model as well.

She modeled in many fashion shows, magazines, and awards shows. To further add to her resume, Lady Nicole has hosted many parties and made appearances in videos as well. In 2003, Lady Nicole suffered a setback when she lost her mother due to a brain aneurysm. While this may have paralyzed some, it gave Lady Nicole the drive she needed to continue to pursue her dreams. In 2004, Lady Nicole met an influential friend and producer, Grand Prix aka Mr. NYC. Lady Nicole again picked up the pen and pad and began to write lyrics. This time, Lady Nicole’s writing was noticeably more mature. Though the road for Lady Nicole hasn’t always been smooth, this Lady is surely not one to allow life to get her down. She is well on her way to becoming the next biggest double threat to the entertainment industry as an accomplished model and rap artist.

About me
Hello, my name is Nikki Torres (TV Personality, Nikki Apple Bottom). I was born and raised in San Diego, CA. I am of mixed African American and Cuban ancestry.

I began print modeling in 2007, after being discovered and asked to model for renowned lingerie company Beauty and Lace and its subsidiary Naughty Girls 4 Fun Wear. My modeling experience has grown to include: video, promotional, calendar, mixtape/album covers, as well as a spokesmodel; I accept TFP/TFCD assignments, however, I expect the unedited versions within a week. Edited versions within a month max.(PLEASE NOTE: I WILL NOT DO ANY NUDE MODELING, ARTISTIC OR NOT.)Besides, modeling is ONLY a fraction of everything I do.

I am currently a TV personality/host for a series called, "Livin The Hustle", in which I utilize my alias Nikki Apple Bottom. I am an aspiring actress and have been in independent films, working my way towards major motion pictures! I also have a passion for songwriting and have been avidly doing so since the age of 14, thus I am currently writing for several independent artists and my near future goal is to penn a hit song for a Major Recording Artist; I am VERY confident I will obtain this goal!

I am the owner of two companies, Eye Katcher Entertainment and Creative Passion Publishing, respectively. I am currently writing a children's book.

Overall, I am too talented to be categorized and labled. I'm not going to sit here and say I was always this driven, but let's just say a few months ago I had a reality check by an anonymous quote that read, “Some People Dream of Success While Others Wake Up and Work Hard at It”. So if I can leave you with some words of wisdom I will say, "Your success can only be as prosperous as YOU make it, so get up and start taking action," I did smile
